Cleveland Small Businesses: Nurturing our Local Entrepreneurial Economy
Small businesses are vital to the local economy in Cleveland and throughout the country. According to the Small Business Administration (SBA), small businesses represent 99.7 percent of all employer firms. In addition, since 1995 small businesses have generated 64 percent of new jobs and paid 44 percent of the total United States private payroll. Not only do small businesses in Cleveland create jobs, they also create a sense of place, ownership and pride while nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit of our community. We have several programs available to assist small business and work with partner organizations such as the Grow Cuyahoga Fund, Growth Capital, and ECDI Cleveland to fund and train business owners.
