Retention and Attraction

The Department of Economic Development is the “One-Stop-Shop” for businesses. The entire team works to help existing businesses grow while also attracting new businesses to the City of Cleveland.

To achieve the retention and attraction of businesses to Cleveland, Economic Development works specifically with the Cleveland Industrial Retention Initiative (CIRI), an integral part of Mayor Frank Jackson’s plan to link businesses to valuable community resources. CIRI is a visitation program that can help companies improve operations and maintain profitability.

  • Infrastructure
  • Technology and modernization
  • Building permit and zoning
  • Safety and security
  • Marketing
