Cleveland is a city that can be known through its cuisine, especially through the fare our local chefs offer on wheels. Food Trucks are a growing trend nationwide, and Cleveland has a thriving environment for mobile dining. Never had a meal on the go like this? Featured Food Truck-  The Spread


    


Featured this month is, The Spread, which offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options served up on a traditional bagel. Above, is a photo of their most popular lunch option, The Club Sandwich, packed with peppered bacon, peppered turkey and cheddar cheese. Go ahead and request the addition of the spicy hot sauce to give the sandwich a bit of a kick! The Spread will be available around Cleveland City Hall in the month of January 2015! Memorial Monday

Memorial Monday takes place at Huntington Park at the Intersection of Lakeside Avenue and West Third Street from June through September.  Food Trucks attend the gathering and provide additional food option to Downtown Cleveland residents, workers and jurors at the Justice Center.
 

When: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday in August and September.
Where: Huntington Park.  Intersection of Lakeside and West Third Street.

Beats & Eats

Beats and Eats occurs on Tuesdays in August and September in Public Square which becomes a celebration of the diversity of food, music, art and culture which makes Cleveland unique.  Food Trucks, musicians and artists feed and entertain in Downtown Cleveland’s town square. 

When: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday in August and September.
Where: Northwest quadrant of Public Square, across the street from the Old Stone Church.
 

The Chomp

This summer, Tuesday's lunch will be one less thing to worry about. Every week, fresh, delicious fare is headed your way on four wheels. Escape the office and spend some time in the sun at The Chomp, a weekly food truck gathering. 

When: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday.
Where: East 46th Street and Euclid Avenue, Cleveland 
 

Walnut Wednesdays

One of the great success stories is Walnut Wednesdays. Thousands of Downtown workers bring their appetites out to the streets every Wednesday during the summer for Walnut Wednesdays. Talented start-up chefs create tasty, locally-made cuisine. Live salsa, jazz, reggae, or rock music is provided by local bands performing in the beautiful Perk Park.  The urban park provides an enjoyable outdoor venue in summer for lunch in the City.

When: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Wednesday in the summer
Where: Walnut Avenue and East 12th Street, Cleveland
 

Lunch by the Lake

Every Thursday throughout the summer, Downtown residents, workers and visitors can enjoy lunch in Voinovich Park overlooking Lake Erie.  This picture perfect setting provides nice lake views and breezes on hot summer days.  Each week about 7 – 8 food trucks provide lunch here on the North Coast.
 
When: Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: The East Ninth Street Pier 

Food Truck Fridays

An event held every Friday throughout spring, summer and fall, food trucks gathered at the Free Stamp next to City Hall at Lakeside Avenue and East 9th Street.  The Food Trucks serve up food in a festival atmosphere with live music in a downtown city park with a beautiful green setting and picturesque views of Lake Erie.  The event helps to activate a beautiful public space which includes a vegetable garden operated by Cleveland Crops.  Food Truck Fridays began in October 2012 as a way to provide food options to workers in the Government District to promote entrepreneurship and to provide food options in an area which lacks restaurants. In 2013, approximately 10 food trucks and 2 food carts participated at the event.

When: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays from until Oct. 25.
Where: Willard Park, East Ninth Street and Lakeside Avenue, in front of the Free Stamp sculpture (Next to City Hall, 601 Lakeside)
