CleanLife Energy Expands in the Hotcards Building

CLEANLIFE® LED recently announced that it is has received a $50,000 loan from the City of Cleveland. The loan was provided by the City of Cleveland's Department of Economic Development  to help CLEANLIFE continue with its rapid growth.

CleanLife Energy is a producer, designer, and distributor of LED lighting, controls, sensors, and power solutions for commercial, residential, and niche markets. Founded in 2012, CleanLife Energy strives to design, engineer and promote products and services that are sustainable and advance clean and economical LED technologies.

"This loan comes at a really opportune time for us," says CLEANLIFE® LED founder and CEO, Justin Miller. "We've grown so much this year already that we have maximized what we can do with the equipment that we have. This loan will enable us to acquire the upgraded equipment and machinery necessary to expand our assembly and manufacturing operations. I can't stress enough how appreciative we are of the support we continue to receive from the City of Cleveland. We're proud to call Cleveland our home and to continue its strong history and tradition of manufacturing."

"The $50,000 equipment loan the City's Department of Economic Development is providing is a perfect fit for a company such as CLEANLIFE, designed to help early-stage companies obtain access to capital critical to their growth," said Mayor Frank G. Jackson. "We welcome CLEANLIFE's expansion in the City of Cleveland that has led to the renovation of the former futon factory at 2400 Superior Avenue and will create 33 new jobs in the City."

Through the help of 2400 Lofts, the owner of the mixed-use manufacturing/office building located at 2400 Superior Avenue, CLEANLIFE decided to relocate their operations to the City of Cleveland. This historic, 3-story, 66,000 SF building was a former futon factory that had been almost 80% vacant for over 10 years. To offset the approximately $760,000 costs of renovation, the City of Cleveland provided a Vacant Property Initiative forgivable loan to the project. This former industrial space has now been converted to provide CleanLife Energy with renovated office space and expanded capabilities to accommodate its current 19 employees. The building also houses the corporate headquarters of HotCards, a rapidly growing online technology company. As part of the continued repurposing and renovation plan of the building, the third story will be converted into 14 live/work lofts as well.
