Flats East Bank Celebrates Opening of Phase II with Official Ribbon Cutting
An official ribbon cutting celebration took place on Thursday, October 1st for the Flats East Bank which is near completion of Phase II with multiple new businesses opening in the past month.
The completion of Phase II adds 241 high-end residential units with dining and entertainment tenants that include Punch Bowl Social, FWD Day & Night Club, Alley Cat, Crop Rocks, Crop Sticks, Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar, FlipSide Burgers, On Air Studio and an extensive riverfront boardwalk. Beerhead and Coastal Taco are also set to open in the coming months.
“The concept and dream of transforming the Flats East Bank started with my father more than 25 years ago,” said Scott Wolstein, developer and partner of The Wolstein Group. “Now, it's all really happening. You can see it by the types of businesses we’ve attracted and the crowds of people gathering to dine, drink and enjoy the riverfront. It truly is a showcase for Cleveland and a sign of the overall renaissance happening in our city.”
Representatives from The Wolstein Group, Fairmount Properties, Cuyahoga County and the City of Cleveland will be on hand to conduct the ceremony including Scott and Iris Wolstein, Adam Fishman, Mayor Frank G. Jackson, County Executive Armond Budish, Council President Kevin J. Kelley and Cleveland City Councilman Joe Cimperman.
With Phase II and Phase I now open, Flats East Bank boasts a 23-story office tower, a state-of-the-art fitness club, a trendy hotel and 14 restaurants and entertainment venues with 241 luxury apartments located in the heart of it all available for rent within Flats at East Bank Apartments.
“It’s been such an honor to be a part of this project with The Wolstein Group,” said Adam Fishman, developer and principal of Fairmount Properties. “With the opening of Phase II, we’ve truly created an entertainment destination. Being in a waterfront live-work-play environment is a difference maker and desired by a lot of people moving back to the urban core. What has been created here is also attracting businesses to Cleveland, providing more jobs and increasing residency. While we’re excited to see the Flats East Bank project come to fruition, it’s bigger than that. It’s about Cleveland rising."
Planning efforts are still underway for Phase III that could include a movie theatre, street-level retail and up to 100 additional residences.
