Restore Cold Pressed Feeds the Organic Trend

Organic, health-focused, cold-pressed juice cafés are popping up in trendy neighborhoods around the country – and now also in downtown Cleveland. In May, Restore Cold Pressed opened at 1001 Huron Road, in the Playhouse Square district.

The new organic juice café, Restore Cold Pressed, is owned and operated by Christie Pritt and Adam Wright.  Both  are boomerangers—natives of Northeast Ohio who have relocated from New York City to start the business together. They decided to move back to Cleveland after witnessing all the successful cold-pressed juice cafes in New York, and saw opportunity in Cleveland’s expanding downtown.

Restore Cold Pressed utilized the City’s Neighborhood Retail Assistance Program (“NRAP”) in the amount of $25,000 to finance the costs associated with opening the new juice café. The City’s loan provided the critical gap financing for the acquisition of equipment, furniture & fixtures, signage, and architectural costs.  The total cost of the project was $150,000. The remaining $125,000 was paid for with owner equity. Since opening, Restore Cold Pressed has created approximately 6 new full-time jobs in the City of Cleveland.

Since opening in May of 2015, Restore Cold Pressed has proven to be another downtown success story. The café serves fresh cold-pressed juices, smoothies, coffee, and tea. In addition to beverages, the café also serves mixed “bowls” of fresh, organic food. They also serve avocado toast, which is a favorite among customers. Many food products are locally produced, and they are prepared fresh at the café. The business is located in the Playhouse Square district of Downtown Cleveland, and is within very close proximity to The Nine and the new Cuyahoga County Headquarters. This is also a prime location for CSU students who would prefer to study in health-focused space, instead of a typical café. Restore Cold Pressed is a healthy option for people of all ages, and it is another welcomed addition to Playhouse Square and downtown Cleveland.
