Working Class Brewery – Cleveland's Newest Micro-Brewery & Taproom
Working Class Brewery will be Cleveland’s newest micro-brewery and taproom when it opens in the City’s Kamm’s Corner neighborhood in the Spring of 2017, filling a vacant storefront while bringing jobs and foot-traffic to the neighborhood.
Founded by a team of two: Richard Skains –a high school teacher and award winning brewer with over 10 years of experience working in a brewery, and Carmen Rusoniello–a U.S. Military Veteran and successful salesman with years of experience promoting beer, working in a brewery and managing a taproom. Together these two form Working Class Brewery, and the pair are following their passion and dream to create fresh, local craft beer for hard working people like themselves.
The brewery’s mission is to operate a principle-centered, environmentally respectful, and socially conscious company committed to crafting fresh, flavorful, high quality beer for the enjoyment of their customers. Working Class Brewery aspires to be a premier craft brewery in the Great Lakes region.
Initially, Working Class Brewery will produce five, year-round styles of beer with seasonal styles available throughout the year. In addition special edition one-offs and experimental brews will be available exclusively in the brewery’s taproom–The Stock Room, where retail customers may view the operation of the brewery, purchase beer by the glass, or get beer to go.
The experimental brews, expertly crafted by Richard will make the brewery’s taproom a special place for locals who wish to experience the beers at their source and to learn about the history of the style, the ingredients and efforts that went into each and every one of Working Class Brewery’s handcrafted beers straight from the crafters.
Employing Carmen’s sales proficiency, Working Class Brewery’s products will be distributed in kegs and six-pack cans and sold wholesale to retail outlets such as grocery and specialty stores for purchase by end user consumers as well as to premium pubs, taverns and restaurants in the Greater Cleveland Area, eventually expanding to the broader retail market.
Opening Spring 2017 in Kamm’s Corner Plaza located at 17448 Lorain Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44111. The City of Cleveland is supporting this small business with a $50,000 Municipal Small Business Initiative Program Grant. This program provides assistance to small businesses by decreasing the amount of equity required for a Small Business Administration Loan. This project will create at least two full time jobs for the City of Cleveland.
