The Opportunity Corridor is a 3-mile roadway under construction that will run from East 55th Street at Interstate 490 to East 105th Street in University Circle. The roadway project is being managed by the Ohio Department of Transportation. Outside of the transportation benefits the roadway will bring to the Cleveland area, the effort opens potential for new economic development, revitalization, new jobs, and a new identity for the community.

The Department of Economic Development is engaged with government and nonprofit partners including JobsOhio, the Greater Cleveland Partnership, Cuyahoga County, the Fund for our Economic Future, Burten, Bell, Carr Development, Inc., Fairfax Renaissance Development Corporation, and others on a comprehensive redevelopment strategy for land adjacent to the roadway.

The Department is working to assess and remediate brownfield land in the area, as well as working to create a marketing plan to attract potential development, with the ultimate goal of development which supports job opportunities for neighborhood residents.
